Arrival
We recommend coming to Törnävänsaari by foot or bicycle. Törnävänsaari is a small island in Seinäjoki river that can be entered from several directions: from direction of the Törnävä Manor House, summer theatre and from direction of Huhtalantie over two different bridges. Bicycle parks are located close to the entries and they have been marked with signs. All entries are accessible and the roads are wide and sand-covered.
Parking
There is a parking lot opposite Törnävä S-Market. We recommend cycling, walking or bus for residents coming from the city. Please note that you can not drive or park a car in Törnävänsaari area.
Accessibility
The Löytöretki trail goes partly along pedestrian and bicycle paths, partly along a forest path. The forest path is not accessible. Make sure to treat the pristine nature of Ruutipuisto nature conservation area with respect. Please do not touch or move the decorations or signs along the trail. Ruutipuisto nature conservation area is located north of Törnävänsaari. Ruutipuisto can be reached from the north from Björkenheimintie near the Björkenheim Bridge, from Törnävänsaari through Brykärinpuisto and from Törnäväntie by turning to Ruutipuistontie and crossing the Lemmensilta Bridge. An accessible sand road runs through Ruutipuisto. Several forest paths meander in the Ruutipuisto area, but they are not accessible. In Pikkuprovinssi’s journey of discovery you can choose between two trails: the accessible road or the forest paths in the park. Ruutipuisto is a magnificent area for outdoor activities, and visitors should remember to be respectful of the environment.
Toilets
Toilets and an accessible toilet are located next to Törnävänsaari cafeteria. The accessible toilet is equipped with a baby changing table. Both toilets have the possibility for hand washing. Toilets are open during 16-21 May: Mon-Tue 9-14, Wed-Fri 9-20 and Sat 10-18.
Seats
There are seats around Törnävänsaari, mostly near the cafeteria building. You rest or can eat picnic food there.
Cafe
There is a cafe open in Törnävänsaari May 21st from 12-16.
