Performances
12:15–12:45 Circus Muudi – Let’s Splash! Circus Performance
Pelle and Pilvi are spending a sunny summer day at the beach, but when they go into the water, it turns out Pelle can’t swim! Pilvi starts teaching Pelle to swim as if they were in a circus: diving with jump ropes, floating with partner acrobatics, climbing to the diving tower on a pole, silly clown jumps, and other wonderfully quirky tricks.
13–13:20 Samba Tropical
Samba Tropical is a local samba school from Seinäjoki, offering Brazilian carnival samba dance and music lessons for all ages. Samba Tropical’s enthusiastic performers from children’s, youth, and inclusive samba groups will bring joy, color, rhythm, and sparkle to Pikkuprovinssi!
13:45–14:30 Siina & Taikaradio Orchestra – Taikaradio Goes Traveling – Music Playgroup Concert
Taikaradio is ready to set off on a journey! Siina & the Taikaradio Orchestra invite the whole family on a fun musical adventure. Everyone gets to join in singing and playing together! Siina & the Taikaradio Orchestra offers joyfilled concerts where familiar and newer song-play activities are enjoyed together. The music takes children on adventures from the farm to the jungle and to treasure hunting.
15–15:30 Ventriloquist Sari Aalto
Sari Aalto is a professional ventriloquist known from, for example, Talent Finland show. Her hilarious videos have been viewed billions of times around the world on social media. Expect guaranteed laughter, clever humor, and family-friendly entertainment.
Workshops and other program
12:00–16:00 DJ Megamiika & Pikkuprovinssi-disco
Time to dance! At the children’s disco, you can really move your feet. On Pikkuprovinssi festival day, the Törnävänsaari pavilion turns into a disco pavilion. DJ Megamiika plays the funniest songs and keeps the crowd dancing all day long! The disco takes a short break at the half hour when the Provinssi music quiz is on.
12:00–16:00 Discovery adventure: Löytöretki Trail
The Discovery adventure is an approximately 1 km long route in the natural surroundings of Törnävänsaari and the Ruutipuisto nature reserve. Along the route, you’ll find many tasks, sights, and things to discover. Head out on an adventure with an accompanying adult!
12:00–16:00 Circus and parkour workshop
In the circus and parkour workshop, participants can try circus skills and parkour. No previous experience needed! The workshop includes diabolo, scarf poi, skipping ropes, juggling equipment, flower sticks, spinning plates, hula hoops, and a few parkour obstacles.
12:00–16:00 Seinäjoki City Library Activity Point
Fun activities for children and families await at the library’s activity point! The Valo library bus arrives loaded with stories, games, and relaxed togetherness. You can play outdoor games or cards, tell stories, spin the wheel of fortune, or even sing! The activities will adapt to the weather. Come and say hello to the library staff, enjoy your time, and pick up something to read at home as well!
12:00–16:00 Workshop: Festival vibes -headband
It’s time for the children’s own festival! Pikkuprovinssi welcomes all kinds of visitors, feelings, and vibes. Does your festival mood call for a crown or antennae? Maybe extra eyes, animal ears, or fireworks? Come and make a headband that will crown your Pikkuprovinssi day! In the Näppi craft workshop, the headband is made together with your own adult.
The workshop is free of charge. Making a headband takes about 20 minutes. Materials are available for the first 500 participants.
12:00–16:00 Workshop: 10-Year Time Capsule – A postcard to your future self
In this workshop, children get to create their own postcard to their future selves. They can draw and write greetings, dreams, thoughts, or small memories from this moment, anything they would like to look back on in the future.
The workshop offers a calm and creative break in the middle of the festival day. Each postcard is made in the child’s own style and is truly one of a kind. The finished postcard is stored in a time capsule and will be mailed later to the address provided, a joyful surprise and a meaningful memory from childhood.
12:00–13:30 and 14:30–16:00 Music Playgroup Pop-Up
Welcome to try out music playgroup instruments and learn about muskari activities at the Etelä-Pohjanmaa Music Institute’s stand!
Food and drink
On the festival area you’ll find KakkuKeidas café-restaurant, PehmisPysäkki ice cream kiosk, and Veijo Järvinen’s licorice stand. Törnävä Manor café is open from 10:00 to 16:00.
You are also welcome to bring your own snacks to the festival area.
